:..what is the common fix for the front windscreen buffeting??..:

Almost every youtube video mentions the niggle of the front windscreen blast/buffeting.

Has anyone come up with a good requisite fix yet.?

I am a huge believer on the Laminar Lip / or / anything on top of the screen that would deflect the wind.

I believe Puig makes something, no??

Anyway - what is your fix for the wind.?

I have the Puig deflector and different mirrors. I found the mirrors also made a big difference. I'm happy with the wind issue now.

I switched to the doubletake mirrors, added the Puig extension but it ended up falling apart and I've just left it off. After we get back from our Baja trip I'm going to swap the windshield out for an Aliexpress or Husky touring shield. I'll probably go back and fourth depending on the type of riding as it's only 4 screws to change out.

I bolted on an Aeroflow windshield I had used on my ‘16 GSA directly to the stock screen. I spaced it out about a half inch from stock screen using plastic washers. I also had to cut a hole about midway up similar to what Calsci does to their units because It felt like a vacuum behind me at speed. Took the bride for a ride and she could keep her face shield open at 90 mph. Can’t do this on the beemer at that speed. I also had an old v stream that I used on a ride fro Oregon to NY this fall. This combo wasn’t as good as the Aeroflow but was a lot better than stock. I’m 6’-2”.

Gotta picture of that setup.??
Go back to the FJR forum and quit following me kid! :p

The OEM windshield does seem to be the weak link in an otherwise great bike. A bolt on deflector is a cheap and easy fix and a big improvement. I got the OEM touring screen from EU and that was even more better. I think the trick is to be patient and let the aftermarket catch up with the bike. Good to see you over here Hannabone

yes, the stock mirrors I had on my 950 KTM ADV were most of the problems with curtailing bad juju wind turbulence.

I have an interest in the Rottweiler setup - bar end mirrors. I actually have a set from a 2018 MT-09 I had a few years back.

I would only have to purchase the actual attachment to the barkbusters.

I've also viewed the Ram Mount system with accompanying mirror options.

Thanks for the pic and the reply.!!

Aeroflow is now on the gsa. I made side extensions and hope they will make the beemer as good as the Norden with this combo. These are pics of the vstream. I cut out the top of the screen so I could look over the top. This combo worked well for me coming from Oregon. I rode a few hundred miles of the upper part of the Utah BRDR and then spent three days on I80 in the rain, traffic and 55 degree temps. This combo worked a lot better than I expected.

Madstad said they are looking for a Norden to pattern a windshield from.

hANNAbONE have you pulled the trigger on a Norden yet? Great bike you'll love it.
I have some feelers out currently - but I'd like to sell my 2014 FJR first then jump on a Norden or maybe the new 660 Tuareg Aprilia...
Wind buffeting and noise on Husqvarna 901 Norden - I was not really happy with the wind noise which was much worse on Norden than on majority bikes I have owned previously. Norden is very loud! So I started with modifications testing.
1) Replace the original handguards = little improvement.
2) Replace mickey mouse mirrors = little improvement.
3) Install higher windshield = wind pressure from helmet is gone, but it is still very laud! Why? Wind turbulence on the bottom sides of helmet. What to do?
4) Additional smartly designed side wind deflectors mounted on the windshield with reasonable discance to make wind flow smooth and quiet - see attached picture = huge improvement, different bike, wind buffeting and wind noise completly solved - it means Norden is very comfortable now, very quiet, something I would expect from long distance adventure tourer (note: reasonably quiet, it is till motorcycle, not Rolls-Royce :)).
For everybody who would like to try this solution, I will prepare the guide how to build and mout it on the standard husqvarna windshield or on the higher aliexpress windsheeld.

Very nicely done. Could this be the solution we are all looking for? I know from past experience side wings can make a huge difference. This was the case with my Super Tenere, the side wings had more of an effect eliminating buffeting than the windshield. Was also the solution for a friends BMW F750GS.

I would be most interested in your FIXX. Did you fabricate the wings yourself?

Yup. Worked for me.
Guys, the main ingredients are modified (cut) Tenere 700 wind deflectors. In my design they are mounted to the windshield using three screws with plastic spacers and washers. It means you need to precisely position the additional windshields and drill three holes into main windshield. Tenere windshields already have two holes drilled, one needs to be drilled in addition. Because screws do not go through norden windshield in 90° angle, I measured different angle for every hole, you will need specific spacers and holders for nuts (I used 3D printer). Tomorrow I should have some time to provide better pictures how it fits and how it is mounted.
