riding a 2017 versys x 300. Have owned a duke 690, drz400 and before the versys was the xt225, loved that bike, but doing longer stretches on the highway over 60mph seemed to be asking more than i should of it.
really hoping the Norden 501 or 401 comes in below the 350lb wet mark (300 would amaze, but i know i'm dreaming there), and has it's headers routed properly (like the duke 390's at least). Were the Tenere 700 lighter and not had its headers routed down in front, (and a better seat wouldn't be amiss, having something wider in the back is nice to rest on for those road jaunts), i would have been sorely tempted by it.

As it is the versys 300, while heavier and having down pipes, it suits me rather well. Just picked it up from a lady in Washington, well cared for and well outfitted, hope to give it some good miles over the next couple years while husky makes it happen with the Norden!

A friend of mine has a versys x 300 and he can't say enough good things about it. You should have a lot of fun with it.

So far got to do a good ride with my brother, then took it through the trail i have here at the house, really uprising how well it lugs down low, finding it harder to stall than the xt225 in a number of situations. Looking forward to putting more miles on it for sure!

Ideally i would love a bike like the FE 350 S or FE 501 S, even the xt225 was a joy for me, but at the end of the day, right now i'm doing more road riding by the nature of who i'm riding with, see what the future brings.
