To Norden owners with a tankbag or those who a getting one soon

Hello dear fellow Norden 901 owners,

On my last three bikes i used my same SW-Motech GS tankbag. I always need as much room as possible.
But SW-MOTECH did change the tankring. They made an adapter so the sliding mechanism for the tankbag is a bit futher away from the gas filling hole. So even when i would buy a new tankring i could not use the gs sw motech tankbag anymore cause of how it is shaped. For an enduro tank.

Hepco & Becker also created a similiar tankring like the SW-MOTECH. I really dislike tankbags that needs to be attached with straps. I have always the problem that it will scratch the bike. So i really want a tankbag fitted on a tankring. But with that i am a little afraid that the tankbag will be facing the rider instead of the sky. And with it that it will stick over the buddyseat. And that you can not stand up anymore when riding offroad.
I was opting for the H&B tankring combined with the Tourer XL tankbag. It has holes for a powercable and with this i will be able to use a tablet that lets me see the bigging picture on a map.
Has anyone with a 901 experience with a tankring and a larger model tankbag ? A picture or some feedbag would really be appreciated.

Hi Spasticus,

I'm looking for a tank bag too for the Norden. I've used a GiantLoop Diablo on my BMW 650 Dakar (2004) for the last 5 years or so. Overall I very much like the bag except for the zipper used to remove the bag from the tie-downs. On the BMW this wasn't an issue because the fuel tank was under the seat, so I only used the zipper a few times a year. I used the same bag on my Norden for the last month or so and the zipper broke with all the undoing and re-doing for fuel stops. We were travelling on off-road extensively also so I'm sure the zipper got dust etc. However, I really do like those Giant Loop tank bag styles.

I'm contemplating the Giant Loop Fandago or the Enduristan Sandstorm 4S tank bag, as I like to carry a fair bit of stuff in my tank bag. Any one have one of these on their Norden?

Y con él que se pegará sobre el asiento del compañero. Y que ya no puedes estar de pie cuando conduces fuera de la carretera.
Estaba optando por el anillo de depósito H&B combinado con la bolsa sobre depósito Tourer XL. Tiene orificios para un cable de alimentación y con esto podré usar una tableta que me permita ver la imagen más grande en un mapa.
¿Alguien con un 901 ha tenido experiencia con un anillo de depósito y una bolsa sobre depósito de modelo más grande? Una foto o alguna bolsa de alimentación sería realmente apreciada.

Spasticus, I’m going to cut the straps off and mount a Nelson Rigg tank bag to the H&B tank bracket this weekend. I found the H&B tank bag stopped me from getting forward on the bike when standing, i had it far forward as possible but I didn’t like that. I’ll put the H&B tank bag to the rear instead.

I put a Tusk Olympus Large bag on mine before I even rode it.

I'd never had a tank bag before, in all my years of riding, so I wasn't sure I'd like it or not. So far, I'm loving it. I learned very quickly that it makes a great place to stash my phone and wallet while riding. The bag itself was fairly easy to install, and seems pretty well made. For the price I don't think it can really be beat.

I like my Cortec. Not many people use them now. But I’ve got Cortec tank and tail bags both.

Ja, aus dem original Halter von SW-Motech. Da muss natürlich auch der Tankrucksack dazu passen, sonst wird es knapp mit dem Lenker. Hätte ihn aber auch noch weiter nach vorne montieren können. Das Kartenfach DIN A4 ist auch SW, nur angepasst. Die zusätzlich Sicherung am Tankrucksack hat sich bewährt. Musst halt bei der ganzen Aktion sehr genau arbeiten, damit der Tankdeckel auf und zu geht. Aber ich wollte keinen Tankrucksack mit Riemen, auf Dauer verkratzen die irgendwas oder schlabbern rum, die SW-Motech-Lösung gefiel mir nicht. Der TR war verkehrt rum aufzusetzen und reichte zu weit in die Sitzbank hinein. Auch ein Kartenfach zu montieren war nicht möglich in der Stellung. Die wenigen zusätzlichen VA-Schrauben und Muttern, sowie die Abstandshülsen, selbst gemacht, kosten nicht die Welt. Zur großen Inspektion schraubt man den Halter natürlich wieder runter, wie beim original, nur hier mit drei schrauben mehr. Viel Spaß beim Basteln. Helfe gerne bei weiteren Fragen. Bernd

I tried to order a Hepco and Becker on eBay, and the person told me they don’t have tank rings. Do you have a link?

How tall are the spacers separating the top and bottom plates?

Guten Morgen, die Abstandshalter sind ca. 1 cm hoch. Ich wollte den Tankrucksack etwa Waagrecht anbauen.
