I’m new to this whole adventure riding scene and just picked up my 901. I am looking into getting some racks and panniers but I don’t even know where to start. It seems like only certain panniers with fit with each rack and not all racks are made for the 901. Do I start with the cases or the rack? TIA

Start with the racks - I like Touratech. They act as rear crash bars too.

Then you can run hard cans for pavement and security - they lock, or you can support soft bags like Mosko, Wolfman for rougher gravel.

Hard cans can break legs in a drop and they sure as hell get bent and beat up if you drop the bike a couple times.

Thanks! I'll take a look now.

I like the Perun rack too. Looks really nice.

I was considering the Kreiga OS panniers as an option since I already have the 18 and 12 versions. Super light weight in comparison to racks. But you'll need to ditch the handles IMO and that can be a big deal. But these are a very light weight option in comparison.

I have the Mosko backcountry 25 panniers but they are heavy and expensive. I've always liked the Mosko's durability and innovation so Im a believer but the Norden is a heavier machine. The Tusk option look like a great value and sure would be a good kit as whole, but beware Tusk racks require modification when using Mosko's backcountry type panniers. The welded fittings will interfere with Mosko's adapter plate mounts, you can grind them off or accept using 3 of the 4 mounting brackets.

The tourtech and outback Mototech look great but not sure available right now.

I just received and installed the racks and soft panniers from Bumot (Xtremada). They are based on the racks and soft panniers made for the KTM 790/890 Adv. There is just a little adaptation to fit the rear fixation without any cut in the plastic under the rear plate. They are easy to mount and it seems to be solid and well fixed.

BernardV, could you show the point where you had to do some trimming of the plastic please. Cheers. 👍

Hi Captain,

The little adaptation is made by Bumot on the base of their KTM Adv 890/790 frame. I did not some trimming of the plastic.

Here is a picture of the trimming if you use the Bumot racks for the KTM Adv 790/890 on the Norden 901

Take contact directly by mail with Bumot, the racks for the Norden are not yet on the web site.

Cheers for that Bernard, that is very helpful. The UK importer for Bumot, has said that Bumot are making changes to that area of the mount, and they will start shipping in 3 to 4 weeks. As I don’t desperately need the panniers yet, I have decided to wait, but your information is very helpful to anybody that needs Bumot asap for their 901.
Thanks again.
