Hi Guys,
any idea if i can mount the lower crash bars on the new skid plate?
i'm definally adding the upper ones but not sure if the lower ones are necessary considering the size/material of then skid plate. Still bother me the idea of scratching it though. What do you guys think?
Thanks a lot!

I would say no crash bars over the skid plate. It will get scratches that is exactly what it is for.

yeah i agree and decided to go for the upper only. Did you have any issue importing yours from europe? shipping cost are crazy but also may add import duty? those are the only one i like!

I've been told by a KTM tech that I've known for a few years that the plastic tank, especially the lower part, is really solid and crash proof. For my part I went with upper crash bars only and a good skid plate (AXP).

The total I paid was 125 Euro plus 50 Euro for shipping to Canada. I do remember I paid some duty when the package was delivered to but I can't remember how much < $50 I would say.

So I think the price is still competitive when comparing to other crash bars. But in my opinion these ones protect where I wanted it most given I have installed a sturdy skid plate. Upper crash bars protect the plastics from cracking when landing on uneven ground. Which I've done. 😀👍

Shipping was reasonable. I don't remember there being an optioned of black. Just black. Matte would always be my preference. ...I may have given them a quick coat of matte black myself. I do do that. 😂

So your gonna buy crash bars to protect a skid plate... So whats stopping the crash bars from getting scratched? Maybe AXP will design a plastic skid plate to mount to the crash bars to protect them while the crash bars protect the skid plate... FFS

I believe they are hiring.... looking for a new product designer 😂

good morning, as I have said other times I do not like the bars that are attached to the engine. I prefer that a plastic break than that something more serious could happen to the engine. For the moment I have put the axp hard and I hope that this is enough. greetings.

buenos dias, como ya he dicho otras veces no me gustan las barras que van cogidas al motor. prefiero que se rompa un plastico a que le pueda pasar algo mas grave al motor. de momento le he puesto el axp hard y espero que con eso sea suficiente. saludos.

I do like this set, since the upper bars go to the chassis. I think what you have done is a good idea and you are not endangering the engine. It's a sensible change. who is the manufacturer of the bars? h&b?

Same here... I intend to install the upper crash bars at least !... I am not 100% decided on the lower crash bars as it seems that the skid plate is strong enough to take a proper beating?

From my research, none of the aftermarket suppliers have developed a solution for lower crash bars as yet... Much like us, they are waiting to get their hands on the bike... Let me know if you know differently?

Regarding the Upper Crash, what have you gone for?... can anyone make recommendations (I have never had them fitted before)?... Personally, I would like to prioritise strenght over weight, as I very much intend to scratch the bike !
Thank you

Nice choice in the bike 👊
if you scroll in this conversation, someone posted a picture os the sw mototech lower crash bars installed so they do fit.
For the upper part only, i can't find anything in USA yet but seen couple of good ones in Europe (sold out at the moment).
Keep me posted if you find anything cool!
