Incredible Performance Increase - Rottweiler

Just returned from doing several hundred miles both on and off road in Big Bend, Tx. Just a day prior I finished installing the Rottweiler Pro Airbox, Power Commander 6, Arrow cat delete pipe, and the Arrow silencer. The trip was great but the bike is a whole ‘nother creature! Whereas I thought of her as competent, dependable and docile before, she’s now wicked! Of the 20 or so bikes I’ve owned and modified in my adult life, the Rottweiler ‘package’ is $1700 well spent. Incredible performance increase! And she now growls.

While I’m posting, might as well mention the Heidenau K60 Rangers that I’ve got on her. Great tires off road. As good as any set of TKC 80s I’ve ever had. But they’ve worn as quickly as TKC 80s too. About 3000 miles and I’m shopping for the next set. I was expecting K60 Scout wear life. Not nearly so. And there seems to be more ‘wiggle’ on asphalt in the curves than with TKC 80s. I’ll either be going back to K60 Scouts or the Michelin Anakees. Just FYI.

That's great news, I'm looking into upgrading my airbox, adding that chip and deleting the cat as well...

As for the tires, check out the Motaz Tractionator "Adventure" or "Rallz" tires, they offer decent lugs for off-road and wear like steel on pavement. I thought they were a little over-hyped online until I went to a Mosko Moto rally where 80% of the bikes had them on and every person I talked to raved about them.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check them out.

I can't speak directly about the Adventure tires (yet) but I had the GPS tires on and they have about 11,000kms and still have tread left.
I'm switching to Adventure tires this year as my trips are more off road orientated this year. But I believe the Motoz hype now!

Thanks for the review... I was thinking of doing the same with Rottweiler and Arrow... but it is an investment and I wondered about the return on investment.

I also really like the Motoz GPS... I haven't used them on a Norden, but on my Honda ATAS for the last 2 years... I got about 12,000 miles on the rear before replacement and the front is still going. About 40% dirt. The GPS is maybe a little slicker in the rain and snow, but you should be more cautious with those conditions anyway ... a knobbie will give you more grip in the dirt but I like adventuring more than I like changing tires.

I have wanted another naked or performance road bike since I sold my last one 10 years ago. I love my 901, but prior to. The Rottweiler and Arrow upgrades, my description of the 901 would have been dependable, competent and docile. So I shopped for and bought a naked/performance road bike because my 901 just didn’t ‘do it’ for me. After installing the Rottweiler airbox, PC6, cat delete and silencer, I now find myself with two performance bikes. The 901 is not the same bike. It’s any thing but docile. Wicked is more fitting. I’ve never gotten this much out of a performance upgrade on any bike.

Which tune did you end up going with? There are quite a few options for the 901!
The RP intake-decat-open muff-ign-street map-(18-028-18). No map switch - I wanted to keep my cruise control. But I found this last week that although the cruise control indicator comes on, no cruise control. I assume the race map gives more low end power. Mine shines brightest as I hit 3rd on to 6th.
