G'Day All,

Like most other Aussies, I'm on the East coast, about 100 kilometres north of Sydney and surrounded by hundreds of k's of trails and single track.

I'm not a Norden Owner - yet. Took one for a test ride last weekend and am seriously thinking about putting a deposit down on an Expedition model. The "standard" 901 was all sorts of awesome and there are only a few small changes I'd make - like handlebar risers and some crash protection. I honestly had more (comparative) fun on the 901 than on my Super Duke R on the public roads, as the SDR is just a bit too much for the street without the risk of being locked up if I come across a Highway Patrol Copper.

Does anyone know how different the Expedition screen is to the standard one? The buffeting wasn't as bad as my old Tiger 800's OEM screen but still, I'd prefer to not have it at all.

Cheers Guys,
Mikey

Hi Mikey,

Welcome, I'm in VIC. The Expedition model as far as is being talked about online has the following upgrades. Suspension to 48mm WP Xplor series (well worth extra $$), Taller windscreen, heated seat and grips, explorer mode, pannier racks and bags, engine protection guard Aluminium, maybe a few other things. Not sure what the price is for the Expedition model here in AUS, but in US I believe its $1500 USD more.

Thanks mate,

The dealer up here near me said it will be about $29k ride away, with the standard model being 26 or close enough to not make a difference. I've got my SDR up for sale, but I only get lowball offers or "guys working on an oil rig"... I'm sure they are related to Nigerian Princes :).

Depending on other plans, I may be heading to the GP later this year, so I'll be sure to give you a shout and we can maybe catch up while I'm down there. If my issus would agree to it, I'd move to either Vic or Tassie.

Cheers

Price on the Expedition is pretty good them considering the extras. I paid $25500 and at the time the suspension upgrade was $8k!!! I too had trouble selling my old bike but eventually sold it in January.
For sure hit me up if coming down for GP & l love Tassie for riding, it’s the best
