Engine control unit malfuction

I rode throught a small water crossing along with 4 other KTM Adventure riders, and immediately on the other side got a "engine control unit malfuction- contact dealer" error. We continued to top of pass and down other side where i got an overheating error. We put lots of water in the overflow tank and it was culping it up, then eventually started coming out under the engine. At gas station, all water in the OF tank came out under the manifold- so obviously there is a clamp/hose lose.
Anyone know of the "engine control unit malfunction"? Sadly i live 200 miles from a Husq. dealer and they are 2-3 weeks out for service.
