Today is the first day in a while where the roads are dry, the sun is out and it's going to be 50° out so I thought I would ride my bike to work. I made it about 3 miles then the front felt really weird on a corner. I assumed it was something to do with traction control as it was last set to 2 out of 9 in explorer mode. I made the quick adjustment on the fly and on the next corner I almost ate shit. The front got really bad and was all over the place going 45mph so I slowed down as safely as I could and pulled over to inspect. One of the beads had rolled off of the front tire. I'm assuming that it has a slow leak and must have been down to 8-10psi when I started this morning without checking (Always check your tire pressure)

I learned some things today, the Co2 inflators suck!! The small pump I carry only will seat the bead if you can remove the Schrader valve. Don't leave your valve stem removal tool at home... I tried and tried with the electric pump but it was not going to happen even with the help of a ratchet strap. It's a sad day, this is my Norden's 1st trailer ride ever.

I was lucky this happened 3 miles away, my wife was able to pick me up and that I did not go down. Here's the proof...

That sucks!! I had the same thing happen to me on my trip up north last summer. Also couldn't get the beads back on so had to tow truck it back to Whitehorse. Not cheap but I was fortunate it didn't happen a couple of days earlier when we were really it in the boonies.
Tire shop reported no problems other than a very tiny tiny leak at the rim. (Almost imperceptible he said) So best bet it was going on for some time.
After that trip I purchased a cheap TPMS system (valve caps style) from Amazon and check the pressures every time I go out.
Glad no damages to you or the bike.

Sounds like we both got lucky!! Once I got home, it took me 3 minutes to pop the bead back on, air it up and check for leaks with soapy water... I need to use my damm pressure gauge more often and not just trust it's where it was before.

Today was a great lesson on what tools worked and what ones didn't. I'll be throwing my Co2 inflator in the trash!

bummer to happen but lucky so close to home :) I always by habit now check my tyre pressures each day I go riding, that and turn signals and brake lights and oil level. Since I get out about 2-3 times a month, there are always 1 or 2 weeks between ride, so it has become a sort of ritual now for me.

Same thing, but mine maintained the bead. Slow leak. Tried dish soap to find it, but to no avail. So I check before every ride now especially since the pressure loss is irregular. Sometimes it’s zero pressure loss. Bought a Ryobi pump that is now a constant companion.

KTM and I suspect Husky too are notorious slow leakers on their tubeless rims, especially on the front wheels. I cured this on my KTM1290SAR with green slime. I didn't want to, but if I was on a multiday ride I could lose 10 psi quite easily. Fortunately with the TPMS I would get a warning before it was critical. Put the slime in and it now stays constant pressure for months at a time.

I have been religiously checking my tire pressure and it's not dropped a single psi despite me checking it daily. I also confirmed that out of my 4 gauges, the one attached to the tire filler thing was off by 10psi (low), so when I thought I was at 28 I was really at 18. The 3 other gauges are all within a 1/2 psi and confirmed the issue.

Assuming I only actually had 18psi in December in my 65° shop then riding 3 months later in 38° weather plus a slow leak may have been all it was. I'm so glad this didn't happen at 100mph 100 miles from my house, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good...

...a good argument for buying a quality gauge.

Hey DWC...what tire do you have on the front? My buddy had a 790R with the Tractionator Adventure on the front and had all kinds of issues with it sealing properly and losing air.
That's exactly what I have on there, it's holding fine for now, I even poured a gallon of soapy water on the tire, rim and valve stem and there are no bubbles. I think this was completely avoidable if I had just done the proper pre-ride checklist.

I will probably swap it to a different model (same brand) when it wears out as it seems to track grooves in the road and can make you feel uneasy sometimes on the pavement.
