Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about cutting out the cat internals and welding it back up? This would not alter the o2 sensor but would it throw a code?? Thanks

well there are already systems and pipes available with the extra O2 sensor, and they don't work, there are those who have added an extra O2 sensor and again they don't work, all so far are throwing up an error within a couple of hundred miles max. Now since the sensor is there to monitor differences between the two, I assume that when you remove the cat the levels at the second are too high or two low as compared to what the ECU is expecting, I don't know why or how but big names in the industry are trying to work it out and produce a dongle that mimics the correct signal and as yet have not managed it, so on reflection its unlikely that you are going to manage it by ripping the insides out of the standard cat, but give it a go, personally I would just try with one of the aftermarket pipes either with or without the small cat, try that to prove that it does not work and then go back to original until somebody comes up with a reliable method. The issue is not the O2 sensors its the new ECU, its obviously programmed to expect a certain signal from o2 1 and a different one from o2 2, it has a range of expected values and has obviously some tolerance to allow things to sort themselves out but after so many miles it decides there is an issue and throws up the code, nobody has been able to read the new ecu and has no idea of the values its expecting to receive. You do realize that this is the Euro 5+ standard and the reason for the 5+ was to introduce a system to make it impossible to remove or bypass the CAT, that is the whole reason behind it. Given the number of people involved in the development of 5+ Its unlikely to be circumvented by "fred in the shed with a welding set" if this is sorted it will be some complicated box of electronics.
There are those will go on about closed circuit racing etc etc etc, which is fine but the only things disabled by removing the cat for such closed circuit use are cruise control, indicator etc none of which are needed for that purpose and therefore its not a problem, however its a major PIA for on road use, do you suppose that is an "accident", if your answer is yes then would you be interested in a scheme to sell snow to Eskimo's
Its already been discussed to death on other threads on the forum.
Either way its you bike you do what you like.

I have a cat delete on mine 901 expedition ,2024. So as you probably know in 2024 they added another O2 sensor. This third sensor is for monitoring the health of the cat. It's a post sensor. It doesn't tell the ECU to richen or lean the fuel mixture the front two do that. I bought my bike January 2024 and then put the cat delete on immediately. Check engine light came about 250 miles later and continues to do so at about that mileage. I have 2500 miles on it now. Your probably also aware once check engine light comes the cruise won't work either. I initially didn't know that and that's a bummer however I bought the Obd link LX and I'm clearing fault code to get light off and cruise to work. Yep, it's a inconvenience but hopefully there will be a work around soon to avoid this. My engine has no issues with cat off and it still gets hot even with delete kit. I did add some reflect gold insulation tape with a modified camel heat shield and got the down below 200 degrees at the delete. Just my 2 cents here in what I experienced

Hi tanks for your comment
Could you please post the link of your OBD
And you can try with this O2 emulator

Sorry .I should of included photos. Here's some pics. My biggest reason to install cat delete (I have Arrow pipe) was to get the heat of the rear shock. It was still very hot with the delete so I added and had to modify the camel heat bracket. I just cut around where the O2 sensor is and the rest fit just fine per camel heat plate instructions. The gold heat tape is on the underside of the camel bracket so it's not visible in my pictures. I didn't measure before heat temp before tape so not sure how much it helped however the tape is designed to reflect heat so I think it did help. using my heat gun the hottest part is 425 degrees F° , with the camel shield and tape underneath with bike fully warmed up it's ranges from 125 to 160 degrees F°. More airflow would benefit more but the design of the bike prevents this. I've seen some people actually drill more holes in the bash plate and removed foam under the oil pan. I haven't done that but makes sense to me why they did that. I've done a few BDR's and rear shock performed flawlessly. With all this said I never left the cat on and just used the camel bracket so not sure what that measurement would be if left stock. Looking back I probably should of tried that.

Hi everyone, I Just added the decat pipe and I hopefully solved the problem installing an O2 extender with a small cat inside (Amazon 12€). I have now ridden 420km without any alarm... The benefits in throttle response are immediate Wow! even with the original exhaust but ...what a noise! Be aware that everyone (police) can easily think that there is something not original. Another issue is with the O2 sensor extender... It brings 30mm back the sensor and there is the rear shock absorber that may touch the sensor. Ciao Arrigo

Hi 👋 super good news
is your bike 2024 ?
could you please share the Amazon link
Thank you
Hi yes it is 2024 with O2 on decat. I bought it from an Australian company (Verex) hand made because in Italy those on the market are only for 2023 (without O2 sensor attachment) however as said I had to shorten the O2 extender because otherwise the sensor touched the shock absorber. And it is still too close. But after more than 400km no alarm so far.

What I did is: I bought this one (that is shorter 45mm total):

RUIZHI Sensore Ossigeno Extender, 2 Pezzi O2 Sensore di Ossigeno Adattatore Sonda Lambda 45mm per Auto Filettatura Adattatore per Auto sensore di Ossigeno M18x1,5mm https://amzn.eu/d/3TrEkkj

Then I purchased this one:

Yctze M18x1.5 Prolunga per sensore di ossigeno, adattatore per distanziatore per sensore di ossigeno universale da 55 mm O2 per auto in acciaio inossidabile (argento) https://amzn.eu/d/2Vdxqq3

That is longer (55mm) but has the cat inside and I shorted the internal cat to a length of 15mm to be used in the first one.

I Shorten also the first one with a Lathe (2mm in length)y. I still have very close interaction with the rear shock absorber but it works. Tomorrow I will ride 200km or so and in case of problems (alarms) I will let you know. Ciao

The good thing is this no a emulator o invent from YouTube, this map the bike and the combustion and everything work together, I live this new product.

The Coober ECU is available in the U.S. I was emailing back and forth with them. Their stock was out for the 901 however he expects more in next week. I have 2024 with three O2 sensors with the Arrow cat delete. He said check engine light won't come and the mapping is a little richer than stock and there focus was for ridability and engine reliability. Aaron ( who I was emailing with from Coober) extremely helpful and replied quickly. Excited to give this a try. I was happy with performance with the Arrow but having the check engine light coming on every 200 - 300 miles was a pain. Was always clearing the fault and with this ECU from Coober running a little richer than stock may also help with the exhaust heat. Special thanks to Ulancito (member) for his posting!
