I note the tank color is quite different than the first pictures from the Dealers meeting.

Vehicle Automotive tire Automotive design Motor vehicle Motorsport

Tire Fuel tank Wheel Automotive fuel system Vehicle

Tire Ice racing Wheel Vehicle Automotive tire
Automotive parking light Tire Wheel Motorcycle Automotive lighting

That blue was a very bright "Pacific Blue" and this blue ^^^up there^^^ on the new pictures looks to be almost teal colored.

Also the seating is way different....as are the rear bags.

I agree it's different (and better!) from what we saw last summer, but I don't think I'd call that teal......
This is teal :)

I don't think I would trade my regular Norden in for one of these, but if I was buying new, I would get the Expedition for sure. I don't like the Husky luggage as many folks here have had issues with the factory luggage + off-road, but the upgraded suspension, Explorer mode, skid plate, and windshield are well worth the price is seems like. I don't understand how they will sell regular Norden's if this thing is out.

It seems like several members here are getting new 2023 Norden base models....I think they appeal to the more road biased touring rider. The Expedition, despite its 'upgrades', is really focused on harder off road riding.

Fair enough, I guess the windshield alone is not worth the upgrades if you are just sticking to road riding. I guess it's a good thing I don't have a cruiser like a Harley or I'd be taking that thing off-road too, haha

Goodness, the list of stuff is staggering for the extra $1300.

..Heated Saddle
..Taller Windscreen
..Xplorer Mode entitled
..WP Xplorer shock & forks
..Rear Bags & Rack
..Center Stand

It is value for money and I would be very conflicted if I was choosing now. It looks so good too. However, I am just under 6ft with an inseam of 31" and I find my current Norden slightly high on the low setting for a 213kg (fuelled bike). I don't want it higher. My dirt bike is higher but it weighs 105kg so that is okay. I had a 790 adv S before the Norden. I found it easier to throw around off-road just because it was that little lower, lighter and sportier. I ride sealed roads to get to where I ride. I ride a lot of fast corrugated dirt roads and I really enjoy slower 4x4 and farm road type tracks. The 790 was fine even the suspension was fine. I only sold it because I didn't like the looks. Realistically the upgraded suspension only comes into its own if you are going fast on rough stuff. I admit I do bottom my Norden on unexpected hits on fast dirt roads, but very seldom and only if I don't get my bum off the seat in time. The expedition is again heavier although some of that is panniers which I have too. I do like the looks though. I would probably be more excited if they released a Norden "Light", something 20kg lighter than standard but still with 105hp.

In Germany, the new expedition is priced even more aggressively. We only have a price difference of 1000€!
The additional equipment alone costs more than €1000. This means that the chassis upgrade is free of charge.
I'm very excited about the first tests how it can be driven on the road with the high center of gravity and soft, off-road damping.
I'm afraid that 80/20 doesn't fit my driving profile as well. Unfortunately, because she is incredibly beautiful!

The fork rebound, compression damping and preload can be adjusted without tools. The shock requires a flat bladed screwdriver. There are settings in the owners manual for different riding conditions. The suspension can be made to work well on both the street and the dirt. It is sort of like letting air out of your tires before off roading and then airing them back up for road riding. It takes a little bit of time, but it is well worth it. We will have to see how well Husqvarna has set up the Norden Expedtion suspension. Hopefully it will be at least as good as the standard Norden

My take is that the Expedition suspension will be superior to the Standard 901 suspenders.

and the extra edit/change availability in the Xplorer hard bits will prove to be that margin of 'better'.

I think the chassis is only better off-road. On the road, the standard will work better. Husqvana has implemented a clear demarcation. Expedition for all off-road riders and the standard for all those who prefer road. The equipment also corresponds to this.
I'm looking forward to a test drive. If my standard in April is the 1000 km service, I'll drive the expedition for 24 hours.

I would have guessed the Expedition is more road oriented with the tall windscreen, heated seat and grips, connectivity, and cruise control included. With the better suspension, it is both.
