Just got my 2023 901 Norden Expedition May 10th rode it home from the dealer about 20 milles no issues parked it in my garage and just started it today to go for a ride May 13th, and the motor has a serious rattling sound, something banging, i shut the thing down, tried starting it again same thing its internal. I'm afraid the motor is toast going to contact my dealer to have it towed back to their shop. Checked the fluids all is good. Anyone else have heard of this?

WOW....

That sucks, but at least it's under warranty.

I’d be taking it back and telling them to give me a different bike, no way I’d let them try to fix a brand new bike. Lemon law?
Won't know yet weekend right now gotta have them get the bike back to the dealer first time owning any new bikes having this happened. I hope the folks at KTM/Husqvarna are reading this i wend to another dealer they received two brand new 901 norden expeditions one missing the entire windscreen in a crate and another one with slight body damage from parts rubbing due too poor packing. I mean what the heck is going on with quality control.

I mean this is the first time i ever has any issues with a new bike, have two other KTM's and Ducati with no issues.
Maybe something with the starter sprag? If it was more internal than that you probably wouldn't have made it 20 miles to home in the first place.

Well my dealer service promptly towed the bike back to their service center, and got the bike fixed and now working properly. The issue was more disturbing due to total lack of quality control from KTM/Husqvarna. Apparently the plugs holding the left rocker arm shaft was missing causing the shaft to to move slightly and the rocker arm to fall out of place then causing the shim to pop off the top of the valve. The motor internals did not sustain any damage so everything was inspected, reassembled with missing parts and tested. It's amazing building motors for over 100 years is hard for manufactures to get it right I sure hope KTM/Husqvarna reevaluates their QA, I've heard from other dealer they been having delivery issues like missing parts, damaged motorcycles from poor shipping packing. The dealer did me right not sure about the QA of the bike.
